Workshops - Tuesday 31 October

HL7NZ WORKSHOP: New Zealand Clinicians on FHIR

FACILITATORS: David Hay & Peter Jordan, HL7NZ

WHEN: Tuesday 31 October, 9.30am to 5pm at Energy Events Centre
INCLUDES: Arrival tea/coffee, lunch, afternoon tea

This will be a full day, interactive workshop aimed particularly at Clinicians and Business Analysts who want to understand more about how the new HL7 FHIR interoperability standard works, and in particular how they can become more deeply involved in projects that use FHIR.

We'll start with a presentation on the fundamentals of FHIR, and them move on to practical exercises using the clinFHIR tool that allows the components of FHIR to be visualize in a user friendly way.

As well as the fundamentals of FHIR, we talk about how FHIR interacts with Terminology - SNOMED in particular - and how we can adapt FHIR to specific Use Cases using profiling. Time permitting, we'll use clinFHIR to build a simple profile.

It is expected that attendees will bring a laptop along for the practical parts of the day - no software other than a modern browser (Chrome, FireFox or safari) is needed.
